University Status

 The Al-Khair University (AJK) is a Chartered University established under the Al-Khair University Azad Jammu & Kashmir Act (XXVIII) of 1994. The Act stipulates, “WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the establishment of the Al-Khair University in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and for matters ancillary thereto”.
 

HEC Recognition
 

The  University Grants Commission vide its letter No 8-1d/UGC-Secy/97-397 dated October 4, 1997 notified that AL-Khair University is a charred University established under Act No. XXVIII of 1994 of AJK Assembly and the University grants Commission, Government of Pakistan recognizes its degrees as equivalent to corresponding degrees of other universities of Pakistan.
The Higher Education Commission vides its Letter No 16-08/HEC/A&A/2005/545 dated 8 June 2005 reconfirmed the status of Al-Khair University (AJK) certifying that the degrees/diplomas/certificates awarded by Al-Khair University, AJ&K are validated/recognized by the Higher Education Commission/ Government of Pakistan.
